Setup Guides
Everything you need to get your AquaTrack sensor up and running.
1. Unbox and Charge
Remove the sensor from the packaging. Charge the battery fully using the included USB-C cable (approximately 2 hours). The LED will turn solid green when fully charged.
2. Mount the Sensor
Mount the sensor on top of your water tank using the included bracket. The ultrasonic sensor should point straight down toward the water surface. Ensure there are no obstructions between the sensor and the water.
- Tip:Mount the sensor at the center of the tank opening for the most accurate readings.
- Tip:Ensure the sensor is at least 20 cm above the maximum water level.
3. Power On
Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. The LED will blink blue, indicating the sensor is in WiFi setup mode. The sensor creates a WiFi access point named AquaTrack-XXXXX (where XXXXX is the unique device ID).
4. Connect via App (Recommended)
Open the AquaTrack app on your phone, go to Add Device, and use the Easy Device Setup feature. The app will guide you through WiFi configuration and device registration automatically.
5. Manual WiFi Setup (Alternative)
If you prefer manual setup:
- Connect your phone to the sensor WiFi network (AquaTrack-XXXXX)
- A captive portal will open automatically (or navigate to 192.168.4.1)
- Select your home WiFi network, enter the password, and click Connect
- The sensor will restart and connect to your WiFi
- Register the device in the AquaTrack app using the Device ID shown on the sensor label
Understanding Tank Dimensions
To calculate the water level percentage accurately, AquaTrack needs two measurements:
- Tank Height (cm)
The total height of the water column when the tank is 100% full. Measure from the bottom of the tank to the maximum water line.
- Sensor Air Gap (cm)
The distance from the sensor to the water surface when the tank is completely full. This is the gap between the sensor and the maximum water level.
Setting Up Alerts
Navigate to your device settings in the app to configure the low water alert threshold. The default is 20% - when the water level drops below this, you will receive a notification. Alerts are sent at most once per day to avoid spam.
Connecting Telegram
AquaTrack can send alerts directly to your Telegram messenger. Here is how to set it up:
- Go to your device settings in the AquaTrack app
- Enable Telegram notifications
- Click the Telegram link or search for the AquaTrack bot in Telegram
- Send
/startto the bot - The bot will ask for your device ID - enter it as shown in the app
- You will receive a confirmation message once connected
Available Telegram Commands
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
| /status | Get current water level |
| /config | View device configuration |
| /help | List all commands |
Sensor not appearing in WiFi list
Press and hold the reset button on the sensor for 5 seconds to restart it in AP mode. The WiFi network AquaTrack-XXXXX should appear within 30 seconds.
Sensor shows as offline
Check that the sensor is within WiFi range. If the battery is depleted, charge it and restart. The sensor retries connection automatically after waking from deep sleep.
Inaccurate water level readings
Verify the tank height and sensor air gap values in the device settings. Ensure the sensor is pointing straight down without obstructions. The ultrasonic beam has a cone angle of about 15 degrees.
Not receiving notifications
Check that app notifications are enabled in the device settings. For Telegram, verify the bot is connected by sending /status. Alerts are rate-limited to once per day per alert type.
